Oblivion Remastered Preserves Iconic Voice Acting Blooper
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered revitalizes one of Bethesda's landmark titles with updated visuals, refined gameplay, and more, while Virtuos ensured a beloved original line remained untouched.
Seasoned Elder Scrolls players are likely familiar with Master Speechcraft trainer Tandilwe, a High Elf located in the Imperial City’s Temple of the One. When Oblivion debuted on PC and Xbox 360 over 19 years ago, Tandilwe’s dialogue revealed her own need for speech practice. One of her voice lines, long believed to be an accidental inclusion, features actress Linda Kenyon re-recording a line.

As players explored a refreshed Cyrodiil yesterday, many sought to verify the remaster’s fidelity. While environments, character models, and items boast modern upgrades, fans have been thrilled to discover that the quirks defining the 2006 original, like Tandilwe’s iconic (and humorous) blooper, remain unchanged, complete with missing subtitles.

In a 2019 YouTube interview with Jake 'The Voice' Parr, Kenyon learned her Oblivion blooper had gained online fame, playfully insisting, "It wasn’t my doing!"
While thousands diving into Oblivion Remastered debate whether Bethesda’s re-release leans more toward remake than remaster, many celebrate the preservation of its quirky charm. This commitment by Bethesda and Virtuos to retain the game’s unique flaws has resonated with both newcomers and long-time fans.
