As inZOI’s Early Access phase unfolds, players uncovered a shocking feature enabling vehicles to harm children. A March 28 post on inZOI’s subreddit, titled "I don't think that Krafton realizes that you can run over children in inZOI," showcased a clip of a player striking a child with a car, causing a dramatic impact and the child’s death.

While the inZOI Online Showcase noted that Zois could die in various ways, including vehicle accidents, the developers did not intend this to apply to children. In a March 28 statement to Eurogamer, a Krafton spokesperson clarified that this was an unintentional bug, now fixed in the latest patch.

The statement emphasized, "Such content is entirely unacceptable and does not align with inZOI’s vision or values. We recognize the gravity of this issue and are enhancing our internal review processes to ensure age-appropriate content and avoid similar issues." Removing this bug aligns with inZOI’s ESRB Teen rating, preventing a potential shift to a stricter classification.

inZOI boasts a "Very Positive" Steam rating, praised for its stunning detail and quality. However, on March 31, Game Director Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim told PCGamesN that the game’s hyper-realistic approach presents challenges.

Kim explained, "We debated extensively about balancing realism. With lifelike graphics, we struggled to integrate playful or whimsical elements, as they clashed with the game’s grounded aesthetic, which was sometimes limiting."

Kim expressed admiration for The Sims 4’s playful charm, noting that inZOI’s realistic style made similar lighthearted features challenging to implement. Nevertheless, he highlighted the benefits, stating, "Our immersive visuals deeply engage players, and we’re thrilled to bring this vibrant world to life throughout development."

While inZOI surpasses The Sims 4 in visual fidelity, the developers are still defining its unique identity to compete in the life-sim genre. For more insights on inZOI’s Early Access, explore our detailed article below!
