Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

May 17,25

Remedy Entertainment's latest annual report brings exciting news for fans of their immersive storytelling and unique game worlds. Control 2 has triumphantly passed its concept validation phase and is now in full production, marking a significant step forward in its development journey. This milestone not only confirms the game's progression but also heightens anticipation for what's to come.

In addition to Control 2, Remedy is simultaneously advancing two other ambitious projects: FBC: Firebreak and the highly anticipated remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these titles were merely in the preparation stages, but they have now progressed to active development, showcasing Remedy's commitment to expanding their portfolio. However, it's worth noting that the project Kestrel, initially developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been canceled since May of the previous year and is no longer part of Remedy's roadmap.

All these exciting projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has already demonstrated its prowess in delivering high-quality gaming experiences in titles like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy endeavors.

On the financial front, Control 2 is budgeted at an impressive 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. Meanwhile, FBC: Firebreak carries a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros and will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The budget details for the remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain under wraps, but they are confirmed to be AAA-level productions. The financial aspects of development and marketing for these remakes are fully covered by Rockstar Games, adding an extra layer of excitement and expectation for fans of the iconic series.
