Destiny 2 Releases Update 8.0.0.5
Destiny 2 Update 8.0.0.5 addresses numerous community-reported issues and improves overall gameplay. Recent updates and expansions have made Destiny 2 incredibly popular, but some problems persisted, particularly with The Final Shape expansion. This update tackles several key areas.
One significant change affects the Pathfinder system, a replacement for daily and weekly bounties. Players had criticized its convoluted node structure, requiring activity switching and negating streak bonuses. Update 8.0.0.5 streamlines this, replacing Gambit-specific nodes with more versatile ones, allowing completion through either PvE or PvP activities.
Another major fix removes elemental surges from Dungeons and Raids. These surges, introduced with The Final Shape, negatively impacted difficulty and player experience, making some encounters excessively tedious. Bungie has confirmed their removal and implemented a default damage bonus for all subclasses.
A popular glitch in the Dual Destiny exotic mission, which allowed players to obtain double class items, has also been patched.
