Despite the disappointing TV adaptation of Halo, Microsoft remains committed to bringing more video game adaptations to screens. Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, confirmed future projects are underway during his interview with Variety.

Spencer discussed upcoming plans alongside the theatrical release of A Minecraft Movie, featuring Jack Black in this ambitious adaptation of Microsoft's iconic sandbox game. Strong performance could lead to franchise expansion.

This marks Microsoft's latest venture into film and television adaptations, following Prime Video's critically acclaimed Fallout series (with Season 2 confirmed). However, their Halo series struggled commercially, ending after two costly seasons.

Spencer emphasized Microsoft's growing confidence in adaptations, telling Variety: "We're refining our approach through each project." More adaptations appear inevitable.

"Each experience—whether Halo or Fallout—builds our expertise," Spencer explained. "While some may stumble, we're committed to expanding these efforts as our capabilities grow."

The gaming community wonders what's next. Netflix announced Gears of War adaptations in 2022, though updates remain scarce beyond Dave Bautista's persistent campaigning for Marcus Fenix's role.
