"Lost Soul Aside's Release Pushed Back 3 Months for Polish"
The much-anticipated single-player action game, Lost Soul Aside, originally set to launch on May 30, 2025, for PC and PlayStation 5, has been delayed to August 29, 2025. Developer Ultizero Games announced this three-month postponement, aiming to add the final touches to the game to meet their high standards.
"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside," Ultizero Games stated. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."
Originally a passion project of solo developer Yang Bing, Lost Soul Aside has evolved into a significant title under Sony's China Hero Project. Bing, now the founder and CEO of Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games, has seen his vision expand from a solo endeavor to a major release. The game first caught the public's eye when Yang Bing's initial reveal video went viral in 2016, sparking excitement with its blend of Final Fantasy-like characters and Devil May Cry-inspired combat.
In a recent interview with IGN, Yang Bing discussed the extensive journey to launch. The game features the main character, Kesar, who wields a versatile, shape-shifting weapon that allows players to switch playstyles. Kesar is accompanied by a dragon-like companion, Arena, who can summon abilities to aid in combat. Lost Soul Aside emphasizes aerial dodging, precision timing, combos, and countering, all hallmarked by large-scale boss fights. The game's narrative is set across multiple dimensions, blending a sci-fi premise with contemporary aesthetics. While the trailers offer only glimpses of the story, Bing describes Kesar's journey as one of "redemption and discovery."
