Choose Your Difficulty in Dynasty Warriors Origins Wisely

May 05,25

The Dynasty Warriors series, known for its hack-and-slash combat, still demands a certain level of skill from its players. In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, this is acknowledged by providing four distinct difficulty settings, enabling players to customize their gaming experience according to their skill and desired challenge level. This reboot aims to cater to both new and veteran players, making the choice of difficulty an important one that varies based on individual player skill and the intensity of the challenge they seek.

All Dynasty Warriors: Origins Difficulty Settings

In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, players can choose from four difficulty levels, though initially, only three are accessible. Upon starting the game, you can select from Historian (easy), Wayfarer (normal), and Hero (hard). The Ultimate Warrior (very hard) difficulty becomes available after completing one of the main scenarios from the three factions. While there's an achievement for winning a single battle on Ultimate Warrior, completing the main campaign does not require specific difficulty achievements.

Which Dynasty Warriors: Origins Difficulty Setting is Best?

For newcomers to the action-adventure genre or those keen on immersing themselves in the storyline, Historian is the ideal choice. Wayfarer strikes a balance suitable for most players, even those with limited experience in Musou/Warriors games. Dedicated fans of the series might opt for Hero right from the start, while Musou veterans might consider stepping up to Ultimate Warrior once unlocked, to maintain a challenging experience while tackling remaining missions, requests, and scenarios. Players can adjust the difficulty between battles via the config menu if they find the game too easy or too hard, without affecting the narrative.

Difficulty Mode Differences in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

On Historian, all enemy attacks are blockable, and it's easier to stagger foes, gain bravery, and fill the Musou Gauge. In contrast, Hero escalates the challenge by making enemies stronger and more aggressive, narrowing the window for parries and perfect evades, and eliminating Meat Bun drops. Blocking on Hero also reduces bravery, shortens the time to influence battles, and slightly decreases Skill Points and gold earnings. Ultimate Warrior intensifies the Hero experience with even tighter windows for parries and evades, and significantly reduced battle rewards.
