Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley Launches with Cozy Adventures

Oct 29,25

Immerse yourself in Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, a new game for Android inspired by Tove Jansson's beloved world. It's filled with cozy quests and breathtaking natural scenery. Both the enchanting music and the heartfelt story are central to the experience.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley brings open-world exploration and light environmental puzzles

Snufkin is a free spirit, naturally drawn to music, exploration, and a bit of harmless mischief. Your quest is to restore the valley by undoing the damage wrought by the Park Keeper. This rigid bureaucrat has littered the landscape with unsightly, orderly parks that suffocate the wild land.

As you explore, Snufkin will cleverly distract policemen, topple statues, and uproot signposts. His methods are simple yet effective, relying on musical instruments and a steadfast determination. He is soon joined by a growing band of valley residents, all eager to reclaim their home.

The valley thrives with over 50 familiar characters, including Too-Ticky, Fillyjonk, and Little My. Your interactions with them, though sometimes brief, are consistently warm and memorable.

Puzzle-solving revolves around musical mechanics. You'll use a harmonica, drum, or flute to interact with the world, eliciting reactions from both animals and the environment. Each instrument produces a luminous aura that subtly influences the nature around you.

Visually, the game is a stunner

The game boasts a beautiful watercolor storybook aesthetic, faithfully echoing Jansson's original illustrations. From golden-hued meadows at dusk to mysterious, foggy forests, the presentation shows a masterful and restrained artistry.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley has the soul of a musical, making its soundtrack critically important. Composed by Oda Tilset in collaboration with the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós, the music alone makes the entire adventure worthwhile.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is available now on the Google Play Store. The first section is free to play, with the full game unlocked through a single one-time purchase.
