Playable with Manual Adjustments

Silent Hill f Steam Deck Compatible, But Not Quite Verified

Valve’s official testing confirms Silent Hill f is playable on Steam Deck, though it falls short of "verified" status due to necessary configurations. To achieve "verified" status, a game must fully support the device’s controls and display while meeting Valve’s standards for input, visuals, seamlessness, and system compatibility.

The tests show Silent Hill f functions well with the default controller setup and displays Steam Deck controller icons. However, some in-game text may appear small and hard to read, and manual adjustments are needed for smooth performance on the handheld.

This marks a significant step forward, especially since Silent Hill 2 Remake lacked Steam Deck support despite patches. Konami has not yet set a release date for Silent Hill f, giving developers time to further refine its performance.

PC System Specifications

Konami recently shared Silent Hill f’s PC system requirements on its Steam store page, offering insight into its performance on Steam Deck. Below is the complete breakdown of minimum and recommended specifications.

For minimum specs, an NVIDIA GTX 1070 supports 720p at 30fps on Performance Quality settings. Given Steam Deck’s GPU, performance may be slightly lower than the minimum PC requirements. Playing at 720p on Steam Deck should be manageable, but connecting to an HD TV could highlight limitations. Konami recommends using an SSD for optimal performance.

For recommended specs, players can opt for Performance settings at 60fps or Quality settings at 30fps, with an SSD being mandatory.

The Silent Hill Transmission on March 13 provided a glimpse of what’s in store for the game. Silent Hill f is available for wishlist on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with no confirmed release date yet. Stay informed with the latest Silent Hill f updates by checking our article below!
