Monster Hunter Wilds Minimum Required Specs Will Be Lowered

The Monster Hunter Wilds team recently shared a pre-release community update, revealing console specifications, weapon adjustments, and more. This article details the information shared, including PC requirements and the possibility of a second open beta.
Console Performance Goals Unveiled
Monster Hunter Wilds will launch with a patch optimizing performance on the PS5 Pro. A recent livestream featured director Yuya Tokuda and other staff discussing post-Open Beta Test (OBT) improvements. They announced target console performance:
- PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X: Two modes – "Prioritize Graphics" (4K, 30fps) and "Prioritize Framerate" (1080p, 60fps). A rendering bug in the framerate mode has been fixed.
- Xbox Series S: Native 1080p resolution at 30fps.
While enhanced graphics are promised for the PS5 Pro version at launch, specific details remain undisclosed.
Lowered Minimum PC Specs Incoming

The team is actively working to reduce the minimum PC specifications, broadening accessibility. Further details will be revealed closer to the release date. Capcom is also considering releasing a PC benchmark tool.
Second Open Beta Test Under Consideration

A second open beta test is being considered, primarily to allow players who missed the first opportunity to experience the game. However, any changes discussed in the recent livestream will not be included in this potential second beta and will only be available in the final release.
The livestream also covered improvements to hitstop and sound effects for a more impactful feel, friendly fire mitigation, and weapon adjustments, with special attention given to the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Lance.
Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release on February 28th, 2025, for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
