To enhance gameplay and elevate the popularity of characters like Storm and Black Widow, who were previously underutilized, NetEase Games introduced significant balance adjustments to the heroes of Marvel Rivals in January as Season 1 commenced. These updates have transformed the game's dynamics, particularly for Storm, who has seen her effectiveness and popularity soar.

Following the updates, Storm has surged to the top of the win rate charts on Rivals Meta, marking a remarkable ascent from her earlier standings. In competitive mode, her win percentage now exceeds 56%, with her pick rate climbing to an impressive 16%. This is a stark contrast to her earlier days when she barely registered a 1% pick rate. Storm now outperforms heroes such as Adam Warlock, Jeff, Spider-Man, Hela, Hulk, Magic, Iron Man, and many others.

Despite Storm's rise, the duo of Cloak and Dagger remains the most popular pairing in the first season, although their win percentage has dipped below 49%. Meanwhile, Black Widow continues to be the least popular and least successful character in the game.

Marvel Rivals is currently enjoying growth, with hundreds of thousands of players engaging in both casual and competitive modes. The Grandmaster title, held by only 0.1% of players, remains an exclusive achievement, even with the existence of the Celestial rank. Achieving such a high rank is challenging, but one player has achieved something extraordinary in Season 1. This player reached the Grandmaster rank without taking any damage across 108 games, focusing solely on healing teammates as Rocket Raccoon. They restored over 2.9 million health points and recorded nearly 3,500 assists while avoiding knockouts.
