Marvel Halts Development on Nova, Strange Academy, Terror, Inc. Shows
Recent reports from Deadline indicate that Marvel Television has temporarily paused development on three anticipated shows: *Nova*, *Strange Academy*, and *Terror, Inc*. Despite these projects never having been officially greenlit, there remains a possibility that they could still see the light of day. However, Marvel has clearly shifted its focus and priorities as it gears up for the release of the Disney+ series *Daredevil: Born Again*.
Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ head of streaming and TV, recently shared exciting news about exploring a potential reunion of the street-level heroes from the Netflix series, including Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, collectively known as The Defenders. This development is part of a broader strategy shift, as Winderbaum mentioned to Screen Rant last year: "We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next."
Marvel Cinematic Universe: Every Upcoming Movie and TV Show
Marvel Studios is adopting a new approach by developing more shows than it ultimately produces. The news regarding *Nova* is particularly surprising, especially since just two months ago, it was announced that Ed Bernero, the former showrunner of *Criminal Minds*, was set to helm the project as both writer and showrunner. For more details on *Nova*, check out IGN's comprehensive article.
*Strange Academy* was poised to delve into the magical realm, focusing on a school established by the MCU's Doctor Strange, with Wong taking the lead. As for *Terror, Inc.*, little is known about the project's premise.
What we can look forward to with certainty in the Marvel TV lineup includes the launch of *Daredevil: Born Again* on Disney+ on March 4, followed by *Ironheart* on June 24, and *Wonder Man* in December. Additionally, fans can anticipate three MCU films this year following *Captain America: Brave New World*: *Thunderbolts* in May and *The Fantastic Four: First Steps*.
