As the much-anticipated release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows approaches, just weeks away, IGN has provided fans with an ultimate recap of the franchise's expansive timeline. This comprehensive summary encapsulates every significant plot twist from over a decade of Assassin’s Creed series games, fitting the entire chronology into a concise 24-minute presentation. Given that the series primarily focuses on open-world exploration rather than extended cinematic sequences, this brevity is understandable.

The timeline kicks off straightforwardly, guiding players through ancient locales such as Greece, Egypt, and Britain before moving into the Holy Land. As the series evolves, the narrative increasingly delves into events in the modern world, adding layers of complexity to the storyline. With Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the developers aim to strike a balance between historical and modern gameplay elements. While future installments are anticipated to lean more heavily on contemporary narratives, specific details about these developments remain undisclosed.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, set to launch on March 20, 2025, represents the series' inaugural venture into Japan. This new setting promises to introduce fresh gameplay mechanics and a novel environment. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see how this latest entry will influence the overarching narrative of the Assassin-Templar conflict.
