Tidepool Games has just released a thrilling new mobile game titled *MageTrain*, a fast-paced pixel art roguelike for Android devices. If you're a fan of the classic *Nimble Quest*, *MageTrain* will feel delightfully familiar, as it draws significant inspiration from that beloved title.

What's MageTrain Like?

*MageTrain* blends the mechanics of *Snake*, auto-battlers, and roguelikes into a unique gameplay experience. You lead a line of heroes that follow you in a snake-like formation, each autonomously attacking enemies as you navigate the arena. Your primary role is to strategically position your heroes, determining who should lead and who should support, as their abilities vary based on their placement in the line.

At launch, *MageTrain* features nine distinct heroes, each with unique skills that change depending on their position within the train. One hero, for example, can throw birds as an attack. As you progress, you'll explore eight different dungeons, confront 28 enemy types, and unlock 30 skills to enhance your team. Along the way, you'll collect gold and power-ups to bolster your chances of survival.

The roguelike element ensures that each playthrough is unique, with branching paths and upgrade choices that keep the game dynamic. Similar to games like *Slay the Spire* or *FTL*, there are no fixed levels and no option to save your progress. Every run is a fresh start, where a single mistake can end your journey, but the thrill of improvement with each attempt keeps you hooked.
