High on Life 2 Delayed, Now Coming February 2026

Developer Squanch Games has confirmed that the comedic first-person shooter sequel High on Life 2 will release on February 13, 2026.

Fresh details about the sci-fi follow-up were shared in an Xbox Wire article, which also outlined updates regarding its cast, gameplay, and other features. While originally slated to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass before the end of winter 2025, this revised schedule puts the launch in early 2026, marking a slight delay.

Alongside the adjusted release window, it was revealed that actor Ralph Ineson, known for his roles in Final Fantasy 16 and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has officially joined the project. Players will hear him as Sheath, a new boss character they’ll soon face. Returning cast members include Betsy Sodaro as Sweezy and J.B. Smoove as Gus, with Richard Kind (of *Inside Out* and *A Bug’s Life* fame) also appearing as Senator Muppy Doo.

High on Life 2 was first announced during the June 2025 Xbox Games Showcase as the follow-up to Squanch’s well-received 2022 video game. The original won fans over with its humorous tone and talking weapons, eventually becoming one of the most successful Game Pass launches to date. Its popularity even led to plans for a High on Life TV series, officially announced in 2024.

A notable figure in the original game's cast and development was Justin Roiland, Rick and Morty co-creator and former CEO of Squanch. He stepped down from the company in January 2023, one month after the game’s release, after facing charges of domestic battery and false imprisonment. Those charges were later dropped in March of the same year.

High on Life 2 is scheduled to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox early next year. In the meantime, the original game is available again on Xbox Game Pass after returning to the service last month. You can also check out our 8/10 review of the base game and our 6/10 review of its DLC, High on Knife.
