In a recent IGN interview, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura suggested that MGS Master Collection Vol. 2 may include a remake of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4), alongside ports for next-generation systems. When asked about bringing the acclaimed 2008 release to current platforms like PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Okamura acknowledged the widespread excitement and speculation, but offered no specific details.

"We're certainly aware of the interest in MGS4," Okamura told IGN. "However, we can't share much at this stage, especially with Vol. 1 covering MGS 1-3... you can probably read between the lines! Internally, we're still discussing the future direction of the series. So unfortunately, we can't reveal anything right now. But keep an eye out for updates!"

Fans have long questioned whether the game—exclusive to PS3 since its debut—might appear in a potential Master Collection Vol. 2. Following last year's launch of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which included enhanced versions of the first three games on platforms like PC and Nintendo Switch, an MGS4 port for PS5 and other systems may finally become reality.

Rumors regarding an MGS4 remake gained momentum last year, when reports highlighted placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on Konami's official Metal Gear Solid timeline page. According to IGN, these three titles are likely part of the yet-to-be-announced Master Collection Vol. 2, though Konami has not officially confirmed this.

Fueling further speculation, Solid Snake's English voice actor David Hayter hinted on social media last November about his involvement in a project seemingly tied to MGS4, stirring more conversation within the fan community. To date, Konami has not disclosed the contents or any concrete plans for an eagerly awaited MGS4 remake in Master Collection Vol. 2.
