Insomniac Games Pitched Resistance 4, But Never Got It Approved

Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a "wonderful" Resistance 4 concept that never saw the light of day. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price, who's retiring after 30 years at the studio, shared that a pitch for Resistance 4 was made but ultimately deemed unsuitable due to market timing and opportunities.

PlayDespite this, Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future narratives.

The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3. The games depict an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank installments.

Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30+ year tenure. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads to succeed him. Insomniac Games' latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, with Marvel's Wolverine slated as their next project.
