Infinity Nikki Fans Threaten Uninstall Over Controversial Update 1.5 Changes
Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update are now available on Steam, but the release has been overshadowed by a wave of controversies and player discontent.
Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure, which had been exclusive to the Epic Game Store for months, finally made its way to Valve's digital platform. However, what should have been a celebratory moment for fans turned sour due to a series of technical issues, unexpected design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. In response, the developers issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the battle for Infinity Nikki continues.

.reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; }PC players eagerly anticipating the Steam release were met with frustration as they encountered crashes and instability that prevented them from even launching the game. While technical glitches at launch are not uncommon, the issues with Infinity Nikki extended beyond mere performance.
The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each comprising 11 pieces, has raised eyebrows. Players now face the daunting task of up to 220 pulls to complete these sets, a significant increase from the usual size without prior notice. This change has sparked fears that future outfit requirements might become even more demanding.
Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, leaving the community bewildered. Amidst the technical woes and the implementation of monetization strategies that demand more from players, the Chinese player base took to social media platform RedNote to voice their concerns. This quickly escalated into a global movement, with players calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.
Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players.““What I am reminding people of is a decent amount of Chinese IN stylists pledging to not spend/pull on the banners to send a message to the digital income trackers for the game,” Reddit user kiaxxl said in a call-to-action post they published earlier today. “For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players.”
The uproar has not gone unnoticed, as reflected in the game's "Mixed" rating on Steam, where players have left negative reviews cautioning newcomers to steer clear until their demands are met and grievances addressed.
The boycott gained momentum, prompting Infold to release an apology letter across their official channels. They acknowledged addressing many of the technical issues and committed to better communication regarding future adjustments.
“Thank you again for your support,” Infold’s message reads. “We know we still have shortcomings, but it’s because of your companionship that Nikki can keep pushing the boundaries of imagination. Please give us another chance to let Nikki’s starlight continue shining for all of us, ensuring our sincerity never fades.”
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
The apology included plans to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season the same day, along with compensation for players: 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While this is a step forward, it falls short of the comprehensive changes many players hoped for.
While some view Infold's concessions as a victory, others remain wary, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece outfits. Despite promises of better communication, it seems that some five-star outfits will continue to require 11 pieces.
I wish you would finally change the drop rate.. it can't be that I need 200 pulls to get a 5-star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Players who initiated the boycott are celebrating the rapid response from Infold, though it's not the complete victory they sought. They urge the community to keep the pressure on.
“Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces,” Reddit user EdensAsmr said. “Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it.”
