"Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment" dives deep into the ancient history depicted in "Tears of the Kingdom," focusing on the characters from that era. The game prominently features Zelda alongside key figures such as Rauru, Sonia, and other Secret Stone holders. It narrates Zelda's journey after she travels back in time, where she allies with the last Zonai, Rauru, his sister Mineru, and his wife Sonia, to combat Ganondorf and his forces.

The trailer showcased the unique abilities of these champions, highlighting Mineru's mech, Zelda's powerful magic, Rauru wielding a striking sword-spear, and brief glimpses of other Sacred Stone wielders in action.

This marks the third installment in the Hyrule Warriors series, following the original "Hyrule Warriors" and "Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity," the latter of which was a prequel to "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." "Age of Calamity" was notable for its fresh take on the established lore, earning a 9/10 rating from us. We praised it as "a joy to play and discover" and "a blast from start to finish." It will be fascinating to see if "Age of Imprisonment" takes a similarly unexpected narrative path.
