Project ETHOS: A Fresh Take on the Hero Shooter Genre

2K Games and 31st Union have joined forces to deliver Project ETHOS, a free-to-play experience aiming to redefine the hero shooter landscape. This fast-paced, third-person shooter incorporates dynamic roguelike elements, offering a constantly evolving gameplay experience.

What makes Project ETHOS unique? It seamlessly integrates the unpredictable nature of roguelikes with distinct hero abilities. Randomized "Evolutions" dramatically alter hero capabilities mid-match, forcing players to adapt their strategies on the fly. Transform your sniper into a close-quarters combatant or turn a support character into a solo powerhouse – the possibilities are endless!

Project ETHOS features two core game modes:

• Trials: This signature mode challenges teams of three to collect cores, strategically choose extraction points, and invest their earnings in powerful Augments for future runs. Death means losing your accumulated cores, adding a high-stakes element to every match. Join ongoing matches or wait for a fresh start – the choice is yours, but be prepared for intense action from the outset! Earn levels by collecting XP shards, eliminating opponents, and completing random events.

• Gauntlet: A classic competitive PvP mode where teams battle through brackets, upgrading their heroes with each victory. Elimination means waiting for the next round, making every match a crucial fight for survival.

How to Participate in the Project ETHOS Playtest

Project ETHOS will continuously evolve based on community feedback. The playtest, running from October 17th to 21st, offers an exclusive early look. Earn a playtest key by watching participating Twitch streams for 30 minutes. Alternatively, register on the official website for a chance to participate in future playtests.

Current Playtest Region: The playtest is currently limited to the United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy.
