"EA Hints at 'Real Energy' for Madden, FC on Nintendo Switch 2"

Jun 28,25

As anticipated, Electronic Arts (EA) is closely watching the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 as a potential platform for its most popular titles. During a recent financial call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson was directly asked about Nintendo’s next-generation console. His response made it clear that EA intends to bring many of its major games to the new system.

Wilson specifically highlighted EA’s top-performing sports franchises—Madden NFL and FC—as having strong potential on the Nintendo Switch 2. He also pointed to *The Sims* as a title that could perform well on the platform. “Anytime a new console comes into the marketplace, it benefits us by helping us reach new players,” Wilson explained. “We’ve seen our franchises do very well on Nintendo platforms in the past, and we expect games like FC and Madden to find real momentum on this one too.”

He added, “When you look at something like *The Sims*, where over half of the players were new to EA, it shows a great opportunity for growth. We believe our IP is well-suited to thrive on new platforms that attract fresh audiences.”

While it’s no shock that titles like Madden and FC are expected to land on the Nintendo Switch 2, fans are curious about what version they’ll get. In previous generations, EA released “legacy” versions of FIFA on the original Switch. However, since rebranding to FC, the company has aimed for closer feature parity across all platforms. With the Switch 2 promising increased power compared to its predecessor, there’s hope that *FC 26* will offer an experience closer to the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions.

Now that Nintendo has officially announced the Switch 2, we’re beginning to understand what kind of games might be coming to it. A growing list of third-party titles is rumored to be in development, including support from Firaxis Games. The developer behind *Civilization 7* described the Switch 2’s reported Joy-Con mouse mode as “definitely intriguing” in a recent interview with IGN. Meanwhile, French publisher Nacon confirmed it has Switch 2-ready games lined up, including *Greedfall 2*, *Test Drive Unlimited*, and *RoboCop: Rogue City*. There's even buzz around *Hollow Knight: Silksong* possibly launching on the system.

As for Nintendo itself, the company has confirmed work on a new *Mario Kart* title. More details are expected to surface during a Nintendo Direct event scheduled for April.
