Updated December 24, 2024: Another week dawns in Destiny 2, bringing a fresh wave of missions, challenges, and rewards. While the game currently resides between major acts, the ongoing narrative includes concerns about a declining player base. This isn't unprecedented, but current issues like bugs, controversies, and general gameplay problems feel more significant this time around.

For now, The Dawning event continues, offering a final chance to bake cookies and collect rewards. Bungie has added a community challenge element, making three rare emblems easier to obtain. They recently revealed the impressive number of cookies baked for Commander Zavala—over 3 million at last count!

Weekly Nightfall and Modifiers

Nightfall Strike: The Inverted Spire

Advanced Modifiers:

• Champions: Barrier and Overload
• Hero Modifiers: Extra Shields. Solar, Void, and Arc.
• Galvanized: Increased combatant health and stun resistance.
• Overcharge: Enhanced Shotgun and Kinetic Weapon damage when subclass matches an active Surge element.
• Threat: Void
• Surge: Void and Arc

Expert Modifiers:

• All previous modifiers.
• Equipment Locked: Equipment changes are disabled once the mission begins.
• Randomized Banes: Random Banes are applied to combatants.
• Expert Modifiers: Extra Shields

Master Modifiers:

• All previous modifiers.
• Haste: Health regenerates faster while moving; standing still inflicts slow damage.
• Master Modifiers: Locked Loadout, Extra Champions, and Extra Shields.

Grandmaster Modifiers:

• All previous modifiers.
• Chaff: Radar is disabled.
• Grandmaster Modifiers: Extinguish, Limited Revives, Join In Progress Disabled, Contest, Locked Loadout, Extra Champions, and Extra Shields.

Week 12

• Narrowing The Odds - Craft 5 tonics increasing specific weapon drop chances.
• Moon Activities - Earn progress on the Moon via bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.
• Popping Off - Shatter 150 combatant shields with matching damage type in Vanguard or Gambit playlists.
• Instrumented Performance - Get 150 final blows with Special ammo in Gambit, Crucible, or Vanguard Ops. Bonus progress for Shotgun/Grenade Launcher final blows or Guardian defeats.
• Momentum Crash - Defeat 50 Guardians in Momentum Control. Bonus progress with Zone Advantage.

Exotic Mission Rotation

Bungie has reintroduced various exotic missions for rewards, gear, and craftable exotic weapons. This rotation updates weekly.

Featured Exotic Mission: Presage (Dead Man's Tale Exotic Scout Rifle)

Raid and Dungeon Rotation

Introduced in Season 17, this weekly rotation allows farming of Raids and Dungeons with updated rewards. Two of each are featured weekly.
