Balatro hit a huge sales milestone

Balatro, the indie roguelike developed by a single person, continues its phenomenal success story. After surprising players and critics last year with its innovative gameplay, the game has now sold over 5 million copies, a milestone recently announced.

Just a month prior, sales figures stood at 3.5 million. This staggering increase of 1.5 million copies in approximately 40 days is likely attributed to the significant boost provided by The Game Awards, as suggested by the developer, LocalThunk.

Playstack CEO, Harvey Elliott, lauded this achievement, expressing pride in both the developer and the publishing team. Even nearing its one-year anniversary, Balatro remains incredibly popular, consistently receiving updates, featuring exciting collaborations, and recently achieving record-breaking concurrent player numbers on Steam. The card-based roguelike's enduring success is a testament to its engaging gameplay and the developer's dedication.
