Tarneeb 41
Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each comprising two players sitting opposite each other. The game uses a standard 52-card deck, and play proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player bids on the number of tricks (Allmat) their team expects to win in a round.
The player who wins the bid declares Tarneeb (trump suit) and throws down a card. Other players must then throw cards of the same type. The player who throws the highest-ranking card of the same type wins the trick (Bamh). Tarneeb cards outrank all other cards of the same type; only a stronger Tarneeb card can beat it.
A round ends when all players have played their cards. Scoring depends on whether the bidding team met or exceeded their bid:
- Successful Bid: If the team achieves their bid or more, they add the number of tricks won to their score. The opposing team receives no points.
- Unsuccessful Bid: If the team fails to meet their bid, the number of tricks they won is added to the opposing team's score, and points are deducted from the bidding team's score.
A special case exists for bidding 13 tricks (WIG 13):
- Successful WIG 13: If a team bids and wins 13 tricks, they receive 26 points.
- Unsuccessful WIG 13: If a team bids 13 tricks but fails to win them, they lose 16 points. If a team wins 13 tricks without bidding for them, they gain 16 points.
The game concludes when one team reaches a total score of 41 or more points; that team is declared the winner.
