Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Builds Functional Cruiser
A remarkably creative Tears of the Kingdom player has engineered a fully functional Zonai cruiser. The game's innovative building system, allowing players to combine planks, Zonai devices, and shrine-acquired items, has spawned a diverse range of player-created vehicles, from simple rafts to sophisticated aircraft. Players are constantly pushing boundaries, even attempting to create functional war machines.
Early vehicle construction is highly recommended in Tears of the Kingdom, as traversing Hyrule on horseback can be incredibly time-consuming. Air and ground vehicles significantly expedite exploration, especially considering the expanded map encompassing the Depths and Sky Islands. Without a vehicle, exploring every location becomes nearly impossible.
Reddit user ryt1314059 showcased their impressive creation: a highly maneuverable and swift cruiser. This warship boasts two automatically targeting Zonai cannons, providing effective offensive capabilities. Its agility in water is remarkable, allowing for swift directional changes despite its size. Construction utilizes planks, cannons, fans, homing carts, a battery, and railings, all readily obtainable near the Construct Factory.
Impressive Player-Built Warship
The cruiser's design incorporates railings connecting cannons and planks, enhancing maneuverability and torque for smoother coastal exploration. Zonai fans, positioned between planks, act as propellers, harnessing wind power for propulsion. These components (excluding railings) are readily available from Zonai device dispensers.
Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide array of Zonai devices—fans, hover stones, steering sticks, etc.—to enhance custom creations. Each device provides unique functionality, enabling the construction of diverse vehicles and aiding in puzzle-solving across Hyrule. These devices are most easily acquired using Zonai charges at gachapon machines, frequently found on Sky Islands.
Beyond Zonai devices and shrine items, powerful abilities like Ultrahand, Recall, and Fuse further enhance building capabilities. Unlocked through shrine completion, these abilities allow for complex structure creation and the attachment of objects to shields and weapons.
