Conquering the Lifer in Wuthering Waves 2.0: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Climb the walls or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer's Board Game

Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a board game. This game isn't mandatory for the fight, but crucial for buff removal. Players control black pieces, the Lifer white. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens walls and gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any time, preserving piece positions. Winning before buff removal is ill-advised, as the Lifer immediately attacks.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. Examine the glowing yellow module behind the Lifer to see the buffs.

Removable Buffs (using Stakes of Imbalance):

  • Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of no damage.
  • Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and DMG over time.
  • Impending Stalemate: ATK increase stacking with each DMG instance.
  • Decay of Time: Significant resistance boosts and Max HP increase.

Permanent Buffs:

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after significant single-hit DMG.

Use the Sensor tool near the Lifer to locate four purple lines leading to Stakes of Imbalance in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (glowing white). One room requires Tacet Discord defeat, another Friable Rock destruction.

Place each Stake of Imbalance in the corresponding module to remove a buff (purple lines turn yellow on Sensor).

Defeating the Lifer

With the four removable buffs gone, the Lifer is significantly weaker. Initiate combat via the board game or "Fight it out!" option. Its attacks pose minimal threat.

Rewards for defeating the Lifer:

  • First Victory: Premium Supply Chest
  • Second Victory: Premium Supply Chest + three Basic Supply Chests
  • Third Victory: Advanced Supply Chest + three Standard Supply Chests

You can re-enable buffs for a harder fight, though no achievements are tied to this.

Lifer Achievements

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (three victories).
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.

For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. Its mistakes will eventually provide opportunities for victory.
