World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm Event Delayed

Due to unforeseen technical difficulties, the highly anticipated return of World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm event has been postponed. While initially slated for January 14th, 2025, a revised launch time has yet to be announced.

Plunderstorm, a popular pirate-themed battle royale mode introduced during the Dragonflight expansion in 2024, was set to return with both original and new rewards. However, unexpected issues arose during the planned server maintenance, resulting in a delay beyond the initially extended eight-hour downtime. Blizzard has confirmed their intention to launch Plunderstorm before the end of January 14th, but a precise timeframe remains unavailable.

Plunderstorm Launch Window:

  • Before the close of January 14th, 2025, pending resolution of unforeseen issues.

In the meantime, World of Warcraft's regular servers are operational. Players can engage in other activities, such as completing Siren Isle weeklies, participating in the Turbulent Timeways event, or pursuing other content within the game.

The upcoming Plunderstorm iteration includes new features like the Plunderstore and an in-game event interface, which may be contributing to the current delays.

Despite the event delay, the Plunderstorm Twitch Drops campaign remains active. Viewers can earn the Coward's Azure Target transmog by watching four hours of any World of Warcraft Twitch stream before February 4th at 10 AM PST. This reward can be earned regardless of whether the streamer is playing Plunderstorm.
