SoMoGa Inc. has released a significantly updated version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG, originally released in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD, boasts stunning new visuals, a modernized user interface, and controller support. Initially developed by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs, SoMoGa's 2008 iOS release now gets a major overhaul.

This revamped Vay features over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A welcome addition is the adjustable difficulty, catering to players of all skill levels. The updated version also includes auto-saving and Bluetooth controller compatibility, enhancing the gameplay experience. Players can acquire new equipment, level up their characters to unlock new spells, and even utilize an AI system for autonomous character combat.

The narrative unfolds in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war. A colossal, malfunctioning war machine crashes onto the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, causing widespread destruction. The player embarks on a quest to rescue their abducted wife, a journey that could potentially save the entire world from the remnants of this devastating conflict. The story, unfolding on the player's wedding day, immediately throws the player into the heart of the action.

Vay remains true to its JRPG roots, featuring experience point gains and gold acquisition through random encounters. The game includes nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes available in both English and Japanese. Vay revamped is available on the Google Play Store for $5.99.
