What Is High Rank in Monster Hunter Wilds?

High Rank is where Monster Hunter truly shines for seasoned players. Monsters gain more health, deal greater damage, and become more aggressive. You’ll also unlock new weapon upgrades and a higher tier of armor. For many, this is where the real grind—and the real game—begins.

High Rank also introduces new mechanics to Monster Hunter Wilds. During the story, each region has two alternating states; after completing the story, both become available on a cycle. This allows you to experience dynamic events, like a duststorm rolling across the plains. A day-night cycle also activates, adding variety to hunts. Alongside these changes, you'll encounter new monsters and subspecies, making High Rank a fresh and challenging experience.
