"Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch"

May 23,25

Akatsuki Games has made the surprising announcement that their latest title, Tribe Nine, is approaching its end of service (EOS). Launched only a few months ago in February on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam, the game's premature closure has left many fans shocked and curious about the reasons behind this decision.

When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?

Tribe Nine is set to shut down officially on November 27th, 2025. Alongside this announcement, Akatsuki Games confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released, despite recent teasers that had built anticipation among players. This news is particularly disappointing given the excitement surrounding the upcoming plot developments.

As of May 15th, all further updates, new features, bug fixes, and content releases have been canceled. This means any previously mentioned adjustments or new features are no longer in the pipeline.

Additionally, two characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the game's roster, will not be added. Refunds for Paid Enigma Entities spent on items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio will be issued once the Revenio contract concludes.

Players can no longer purchase Enigma Entities or Daily Passes through the app or the web store. However, existing Enigma Entities can still be used until Tribe Nine's official shutdown.

Why Did It Fail, So Soon?

Tribe Nine, a free-to-play extreme action RPG, boasts a distinctive style and intriguing worldbuilding, which made it a promising game. Despite its quality, the game faced challenges from the outset.

One of the main issues was the slow release schedule, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Additionally, the game did not encourage significant spending from players. It was possible to build a competitive team with just one pull, and duplicate characters were not necessary, which was beneficial for players but not for the developers' revenue stream.

The decision to implement a gacha system appears to have been a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it did not yield the desired results. Despite its impending closure, the game remains playable until November 27th, 2025. If you haven't tried it yet, you can still experience it on the Google Play Store.
