Techland Unveils Free Tower Raid Mode for Dying Light 2
Techland continues to push the boundaries of Dying Light 2, introducing Tower Raid, a dynamic, roguelite-inspired mode that delivers unpredictable gameplay and high-stakes survival. After undergoing rigorous testing last year, this highly anticipated mode is now officially part of the game, offering players an entirely fresh way to experience the infected-ravaged world.
In this mode, players won’t take control of Aiden Caldwell. Instead, they’ll step into the shoes of one of four distinct warriors, each belonging to a unique combat archetype: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. Each class comes equipped with its own abilities, promoting diverse playstyles and strategic teamwork. For those craving an extreme challenge, Tower Raid allows players to reduce their team size—or even face the dangers of the tower alone.
The mode features three difficulty levels—Quick, Normal, and Elite—which determine the intensity and length of the run. Every session is procedurally generated, meaning no two ascents of the tower will ever be the same. With shifting floor layouts and ever-changing enemy encounters, adaptability is key to survival.
To keep the challenge engaging, Techland has introduced a brand-new progression system that ensures every defeat brings new opportunities. Each unsuccessful attempt unlocks abilities and weapons, steadily improving the player’s odds in future runs. In the heart of the tower, players will also encounter Sola, a mysterious merchant who offers rare rewards like the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol for those skilled enough to earn them.
Despite preparing for the upcoming launch of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland remains committed to enhancing Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Future updates will introduce improved co-op mechanics, refined matchmaking, expanded community map integration, additional Tower Raid characters, new melee and ranged weapons, a brand-new weapon class, enhancements to the prologue, and major graphical and technical optimizations.
