Suicide Squad: Final Content Update Unveiled
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update
Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for its live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of content development for the game, though online servers will remain active.
The game, launched in February 2024 to mixed reception, saw its support officially end on January 14th, 2025, as announced on December 9th, 2024. This decision, following just 10 months of post-launch support, is largely attributed to the game's controversial live-service model. Despite the negative reception, Rocksteady confirmed that all online features will remain functional, allowing players to continue enjoying the game's cooperative modes.
Season 4 Episode 8 introduces significant new content, including:
- Libra Infamy Set: A high-risk, high-reward set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, manipulating damage dealt and received by enemies.
- Notorious Weapons: New powerful weapons, such as The Silencer's Complete Silence (with a devastating Alt-Fire), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying enemies), and Chronos' Equilibrium (bonus damage based on missing shield).
- Mayhem Mission: The final battle against Brainiac, concluding the game's main storyline.
- Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike duration.
- Bug Fixes: A comprehensive list of bug fixes addressing various gameplay, UI, audio, and visual issues, including fixes for specific character abilities and mission progression.
The update also builds upon the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7, allowing players to experience the game's content, including the main campaign and seasonal missions, without an internet connection. While Rocksteady hasn't announced a server shutdown, this offline functionality ensures continued access to the game's content even if servers are eventually taken offline.
For those yet to experience Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the game is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd, 2025.
Season 4 Episode 8 Patch Notes Highlights:
New Content:
- Medieval Elseworld Expansion: Explore new areas within the medieval Elseworld, including The Quarry and The Arena.
- Libra Infamy Set: Apply stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, increasing damage dealt and received.
- Notorious Weapons: The Silencer's Complete Silence, Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets, and Chronos' Equilibrium.
Gameplay Changes:
- Reduced Deathstroke's Suicide Strike duration.
- Decreased XP requirements for Squad Levels (retroactive rewards applied).
Bug Fixes: Numerous fixes across various aspects of the game, including gameplay, UI, audio, and visual elements. Specific fixes addressed issues with LuthorCoin expiration, playlist updates, XP rewards, resource rewards, leaderboards, mission counters, character abilities, and more.
Known Issues: Incorrect progress tracking for Riddler challenges when accessed from a different Episode than the currently selected one. Exiting to the main menu resolves this issue.
