Square Enix Announces The EOS Of Romancing SaGa Re:universe

Jan 16,25

Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing on December 2nd, 2024. While the Japanese version continues, the global journey ends after four years.

Two Months Remain

The global server shutdown is imminent. In-app purchases and Google Play Points exchanges ceased after the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.

Launched in June 2020, the global version received mixed player feedback despite strong visuals and a generous gacha system. Unlike its successful Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked key content updates such as Solistia and 6-star units, a year behind the Japanese release. This content disparity contributed to player attrition.

Community Reflections

Square Enix has shuttered several mobile titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest games, adding Romancing SaGa Re:universe global to the list.

This turn-based RPG, rooted in the classic SaGa series, offers players two final months of gameplay. Those unfamiliar with the game have a chance to experience it before the servers go offline. Download it from the Google Play Store.
