Spider-Man Animated Series on Disney+ Already Renewed for Seasons 2 and 3
Marvel's animated Spider-Man series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, gets a head start on future seasons. Production is already underway for seasons two and three, even before the premiere of season one on January 29th.
Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios head of streaming, television, and animation, confirmed the news in an interview with The Movie Podcast. He revealed that scripts for Season 2 are complete, and roughly half of the animatics are finished. Season 3 has also received the green light.
Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm for the series and the characters, stating, "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters...What [lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off." He anticipates the narrative depth will only increase in subsequent seasons.

While Winderbaum mentioned upcoming meetings with Trammell to discuss Season 3, no release dates for either Season 2 or 3 have been announced. The series chronicles Peter Parker's freshman year as he develops his superpowers. Whether future seasons will follow a year-by-year progression of Peter's high school experience remains to be seen.
