Sony Collaborates on Mukti: A First-Person Game Exploring Human Trafficking, Set for PS5 and PC

Sony has announced Mukti, a new title for PlayStation 5 and PC, developed under its Sony India Hero Project.

Mukti is a first-person narrative adventure set in an Indian museum. Developer underDOGS Studio describes it as a deep dive into the critical issue of human trafficking, aiming to raise awareness through its storytelling.

In Mukti, players explore a museum’s intricate halls, uncovering the stark realities of human trafficking. Through compelling narratives and immersive gameplay, the game sheds light on the struggles of victims and survivors, encouraging reflection on this global issue.
Inspired by real stories and carefully researched historical contexts, Mukti seeks to educate, provoke thought, and inspire change. Every interaction is crafted to foster empathy, spark conversation, and drive action.

underDOGS Studio is collaborating with PlayStation to optimize the PS5 DualSense controller’s haptics and adaptive triggers, enhancing subtle moments like puzzle-solving with precise vibrations.

The studio also shared tentative PC specifications for Mukti.

The Steam version of Mukti will include achievements, family sharing, and full controller support.

In a PlayStation Blog post, Vaibhav Chavan, founder and game director at underDOGS Studio, expressed pride in Sony’s support.

“Being part of the Sony India Hero Project has empowered us to realize our vision and reinforced our belief that Indian stories deserve a global audience,” Chavan said.

“Working closely with Sony’s talented team for over a year has been an incredible learning experience. We’re excited to finally share a glimpse of what we’ve been creating.”

Sony’s Hero Project initiatives worldwide aim to discover standout titles from external developers. Through these programs, Sony provides studios with development, publishing, and marketing support. Lost Soul Aside, for instance, is an upcoming title from the China Hero Project.
