The Great Sneeze is a new Android game from Studio Monstrum. It takes the classic point-and-click format and blends it with a chaotic storyline set in an art gallery—all caused by an incredibly powerful sneeze.

Really? One Sneeze Sparks Total Chaos?

A sneeze may seem harmless, but in The Great Sneeze, it’s enough to throw an entire art exhibition into disarray. Set just before the grand opening of a Caspar David Friedrich exhibition, the game follows three friends—Kaspar, David, and Friederike.

Their mission is to fix an absolute mess. One moment they’re assisting Mr. Dietzke, the curator, with final preparations. The next, a single sneeze sends everything spiraling out of control. Paintings shift, and the carefully arranged exhibition falls apart.

To make matters worse, Friedrich’s iconic Wanderer above the Sea of Fog wanders straight into the rest of the artist’s works. So the trio must track down the stray figure, solve a series of clever puzzles, and restore the exhibition before the official opening.

Because the game is centered around Friedrich’s art, it serves as an accessible introduction to his paintings. The visuals beautifully capture the atmosphere of a real art museum while keeping the mood playful.

The Great Sneeze features simple yet engaging puzzles that encourage players to pay attention to the fine details in Friedrich’s works. The humorous interactions between the three main characters also add to the fun.

The game was developed by Studio Monstrum in collaboration with major German museums. Development included data sourced from institutions like the Hamburger Kunsthalle, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, and Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.
