To tap into this "festive fatigue," Clash Royale is hosting a London pop-up at Boxpark Shoreditch, allowing people to shred unwanted Christmas cards in exchange for in-game rewards. This offers a guilt-free alternative to discarding cards while gaining valuable in-game resources.
The anti-Christmas sentiment extends beyond cards; one in five people cited Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" as a song they wish to never hear again. Over 20% admitted to publicly complaining about Christmas music or opting for beef instead of turkey.
This anti-festive spirit extends to Clash Royale's content creators, who received intentionally awful gifts (socks, oven mitts, nail clippers) packaged in custom Clash Royale wrapping paper containing in-game rewards for fans.
