How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
Embarking on your journey as a Shinigami starts with your initial state as a Soul Spirit. To transition into a Shinigami, you'll need to accept the first quest from the Hurt Shinigami NPC. This crucial decision sets your path as a Shinigami, locking you out of the Hollow progression unless you later become a Visored. If your heart is set on becoming a Hollow, be sure to check our dedicated guide for that progression route.
Act quickly during the selection process. Choosing the Hollow path requires breaking your chain, whereas opting for Shinigami means your chain will gradually break over time. Every two minutes, a section of the chain breaks, and if you let it break completely, you'll automatically transform into a Hollow. In that case, our guide on resurrection moves lists will be essential for your Hollow endgame.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your journey as a Shinigami begins with purifying 6 Lost Souls, a task befitting your role in maintaining the balance between life and death. After this, collect your next quest from the NPC near the Hurt Shinigami, which involves delivering a letter to a Doctor friend near the hospital.
Use these early quests to familiarize yourself with your powers. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop. If your budget allows, use the bus stop for $200 as a teleport/fast travel option, as the map is vast and involves a lot of running. For a more convenient experience, you can also purchase infinite fast travel for 149 Robux from the Robux Shop in the menu.
From here, quests continue, marked by a red crosshair. You'll progress through tasks like defeating Hollows and Corrupted Shinigamis until you reach level 15. Quests in Hollow Era are categorized into repeatable quests, progression quests, and those linked to specific paths like Vizard and Airwalk.
Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
To maximize your Shinigami potential, strategic investment of skill points is crucial. Your Reiatsu Skill Tree offers powerful Kido abilities exclusive to Shinigami:
- Caja Negacion: Emit a beam of lightning from your finger. When combined with Electric, it spreads electricity from the target.
- Shakkaho: Create a red energy ball that explodes on impact. With Ragdoll, it can throw enemies back, and with Fire, it ignites them.
- Chain Bind: Summon energy chains to pull enemies towards you.
- Prison of Light: Immobilize enemies with six light rods, perfect for agile foes.
- Thunder Sear: Release a slow-moving ball of lightning that causes electric damage and explodes, ideal for crowd control.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
Unlocking your Shikai is a pivotal moment in your Shinigami journey. At level 15, visit Urihiro to start the Shikai Training quest. Your challenge is to defeat Urahara Kisuke for 1,700 exp, after which you can wield Shikai powers.
Warning: Beating Kisuke at level 15 can be tough if your hero isn't fully optimized. Consider grinding to level 25 or higher before taking on this challenge.
Using Shikai
Upon unlocking Shikai, a random powerful ability is assigned to your weapon. If you're not satisfied with the new power, you can re-roll it at the Urahara Shop for a fee. The game features a Rage Bar that fills when you take or deal damage. Once full, press Y (default keybind) to activate Shikai, which deactivates when you deplete your Reiatsu or release the key.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Your Shikai Mastery Level is determined by the Mastery Points you earn using your Shikai Skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce the Rage you spend and grant better aura effects and character enhancements:
- Mastery Level 1: 1-149 Points. Grants Transparent Aura.
- Mastery Level 2: 150-299 Points. Grants a brighter aura with particles.
- Mastery Level 3: 300-499 Points. Grants a Lightning boost.
- Mastery Level 4: 500+ Points. Grants a zone of flying stones around you.
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Initially, choosing the Shinigami path closes off the Hollow route. However, becoming a Visored allows you to break this barrier, using a Hollow Mask to switch between Shinigami and Hollow forms. To pursue this, reach level 50 and unlock the Vizard fighting style at the Vizard’s Warehouse.
To become a Visored, you'll need to obtain the Hogyoku by defeating the King of Hueco Mundo, although the drop rate is a mere 1%. This marks the beginning of your Visored progression.
Hollow Era Visored Mastering
As a Visored, you gain access to unique perks like Mask Control, which reduces the risk of Hollow control, and Visored nodes that extend your mask-wearing time and boost your damage output with Hollow powers.
Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Control your inner Hollow and don the mask at will.
- Cero: Charge a beam of Reiatsu for significant damage.
- Final Cero: Pin down enemies and crush them with an overhead Cero.
- Vasto Rage: Temporarily transform into the mightiest Hollow type, unleashing your full potential.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
At the time of writing, Bankai is not available in Hollow Era. Given the game's popularity, it's expected to be added in future updates, though no specific release date has been confirmed yet.
Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
- Use the lockup button to focus on a primary enemy target, especially useful during laggy moments or when stuck by large Hollows.
- Learn how to block enemy attacks early on to mitigate damage, as even low-level enemies can be deadly.
- Invest in bus teleport for efficient travel across the map, saving time and effort.
- When allocating Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed to enhance your damage output and movement.
- Use Reiatsu sense by pressing and holding J (default keybind) to reveal markers around Karakura.
- If you prefer less repetitive gameplay, choose Shinigami over Hollow, as Hollow progression can involve more chores.
This guide covers your journey as a Shinigami in Hollow Era. Keep in mind the game is still in development, so expect some bugs and lag. To give yourself an early advantage, don't forget to use Hollow Era codes to boost your progress.
