Sonic Rumble, though yet to launch globally, has already kicked off an exciting crossover event dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event, running from now until May 7th, comes just before the game's worldwide launch on May 8th. Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries, having rolled out in phases with pre-launch 1 in Summer 2024 in regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia, followed by pre-launch 2 in Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.

What’s in Store?

Players in the soft-launch regions can jump into the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover, featuring a nostalgic lineup from various SEGA classics. The Altered Beast crew makes a comeback, with the Werewolf transformation available for free. Fans of the beast modes can also unlock the Werebear and Weredragon, with the former possibly purchasable with regular rings and the latter included in the Premium Pass.

From Fantasy Zone, Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa join the fray. Opa-Opa is part of the Premium Pass, while Upa-Upa can be acquired through fragments, each costing 700 standard rings. Additionally, AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball have entered the crossover, with AiAi available for 729 Red Star Rings. Get a closer look at the event below:

Participants can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos during matches. Although it may seem odd to have the event before the global release, SEGA assures that most of these pre-release rewards will return post-launch. This crossover, tapping into SEGA's rich history, blends monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and mythical creatures with Sonic and his friends, showcasing the promising future of Sonic Rumble.
