Pokémon Scarlet and Violet rank among the best-selling Pokémon titles of all time.

As reported by Joe Merrick, the webmaster of Serebii.net, and noted by Eurogamer, the combined sales of the two games have surpassed 25 million units. This figure places them second only to Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue, which sold 31.4 million copies following their 1996 debut on the Game Boy.

With 26,790,000 units sold, Scarlet and Violet narrowly edge out Sword and Shield—which sold 26,720,000 copies—for the number two spot.

Gold and Silver, along with Diamond and Pearl, complete the top five best-selling Pokémon games, with sales of 23.7 million and 16.7 million units respectively.

Upon release, Scarlet and Violet received a mixed critical response, earning predominantly average scores that rank them among the lowest-rated mainline entries in the series. Players reported various technical issues, performance problems, and bugs at launch.

In IGN’s review of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, we rated the game a 6/10, describing it as "Okay." Our review noted: "The shift to open-world gameplay in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet points to an exciting future for the franchise, but this promising direction is hampered by the games' unfinished state."

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is scheduled for release later this year. The game takes place in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment initiative aims to create a space that coexists harmoniously with people and Pokémon. Last October, a leak containing unconfirmed details about several Pokémon titles, including Legends: Z-A, surfaced online. More recently, Nintendo issued a subpoena to Discord in an effort to identify the individual responsible for the "TeraLeak."
