Rune Slayer Fishing Guide
So, you've heard the whispers: *Rune Slayer* has fishing, and that's the ultimate MMORPG stamp of approval! But how does it actually work? Let's dive in (pun intended). We'll walk you through the surprisingly unintuitive process of reeling in some aquatic treasures in *Rune Slayer*. Trust us, we wrestled with this one, too!
Recommended Videos Before you catch fish in Rune Slayer

First things first: **Accept the fishing quest from Simon the Fisherman.** This white-haired chap, hanging out near the pier where the barracuda swim, needs your help catching 5 "fish." In return, he'll reward you with a handy Tackle Box (we'll explain the quotes later).

To catch those fish, you'll need a fishing rod and bait. Guess who's selling them? Simon, of course! **Buy a Wood Fishing Rod and some Worms.** We recommend at least 5 worms, but 10 is better to be safe. Now, here's a crucial detail: **you don't equip the bait.** Just keep the Worms in your inventory. Each successful catch (or "catch") will automatically use one worm.
Here's the kicker: **you need at least 5 worms in your inventory to catch anything.** We learned this the hard way. So, stock up! Putting your worms in your hotbar helps keep track.
How to Catch Fish in Rune Slayer

1. **Select your Wood Fishing Rod.** You don't equip it; just have it in your hotbar. 2. **Hold M1 to cast your line into the water.** The pier near Simon is perfect. 3. **Watch the bobber.** When you see ripples (one or two), **click M1 again to reel in your catch.**
Important Note: This isn't a guaranteed success. You might catch nothing, or you might catch junk. But don't worry, Simon counts junk as a catch (that's why the "fish" quotes!). Just keep casting until you've got 5 catches.

Once you have 5 catches, **talk to Simon to complete the quest.** He'll give you a Tackle Box. Use it to store your remaining worms and save inventory space.
That's it! Happy fishing! Need more help? Check out our Ultimate Beginner's Guide to *Rune Slayer*.
