Killer7: Beyond or Killer11?

During a recent Grasshopper Direct, Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil) and Goichi "Suda51" Suda discussed the possibility of both a Killer7 sequel and a complete edition of the game.

The focus of the presentation was the upcoming remastered version of Shadows of the Damned. However, when questioned about future projects, Mikami openly stated his desire for a Killer7 sequel, calling the original one of his personal favorites.

Suda51 shared Mikami's enthusiasm, suggesting a sequel might be in the cards someday. He even playfully tossed around potential titles like "Killer11" or "Killer7: Beyond."

Resident Evil Creator Wants Cult Classic, Killer7, to Get a Sequel By Suda51Killer7, a 2005 action-adventure game for GameCube and PlayStation 2, is known for its unique blend of horror, mystery, and Suda51's signature over-the-top style. The game follows Harman Smith, a man capable of manifesting seven distinct personalities, each with unique abilities and weaponry. Despite its cult following, a sequel has remained elusive. Even after the 2018 PC remaster, Suda51 voiced his interest in revisiting his original vision.

Suda51 proposed a "Complete Edition" of Killer7, an idea Mikami jokingly dismissed. However, the discussion revealed that the original game's concept included extensive dialogue for the character Coyote, which could potentially be restored in such a release.

The mere suggestion of a sequel or complete edition has generated considerable excitement among fans. While no official announcements have been made, the developers' expressed interest has reignited hope for the future of Killer7.

Mikami believes a complete edition would be well-received, to which Suda51 responded that they would need to decide between "Killer7: Beyond" and the Complete Edition as their next step.
