The highly anticipated Pokémon GO Wild Area event is almost here, bringing with it the exciting debut of the Safari Ball—the seventh Poké Ball to join the game! This event promises a fresh take on catching Pokémon, reminiscent of the Safari Zones from the main series games.

What is the Pokémon GO Safari Ball?

For those unfamiliar, Safari Zones in the main Pokémon games are special areas where you can catch rare Pokémon without battling. Niantic is recreating this experience with the Wild Area event. Pokémon GO has a relatively limited selection of Poké Balls; the standard Poké Ball, Great Ball, Ultra Ball, Premier Balls, and the coveted Master Ball. The Safari Ball marks a significant addition.

The Wild Area event runs globally from November 23rd to November 24th, 2024, concluding at 6:15 pm local time. Remember, any unused Safari Balls will vanish from your inventory once the event ends, so use them wisely!

During the event, the Safari Ball will be the ideal tool for catching powerful Pokémon. Interestingly, Niantic is launching the Safari Ball with a new event rather than integrating it into existing Safari Zone or City Safari events. The ball's design remains a mystery, but many speculate it will feature the signature green camouflage pattern familiar to fans of the main series games. We’ll just have to wait and see!
