The latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket has arrived, bringing shiny variants and over 110 new cards into the mix. Named Shining Revelry, this update introduces dazzling new card variants, including additions from the Paldea region. If you're like me, you might find yourself wishing for more Hourglasses to try your luck with a 10-pack pull. I jumped right into the update, spending some of my hard-earned Pack Hourglasses to open ten packs. Fortunately, I pulled a Charizard EX, but the rest were less exciting. However, I did snag a Pokémon Center Lady, which is a relief because her ability to heal Special Conditions like Burns could come in handy during matches.

As with previous expansions, the update includes an Emblem event where you can earn new badges to show off to your friends. The highlight of this update, though, is the introduction of Ranked Matches. You'll battle other Trainers, climbing from Beginner to Master Ball Rank. Points will be displayed, and at the end of the season (which lasts approximately one month), you'll receive an emblem based on your performance. This has motivated me to dust off my dueling skills and start seriously building my decks again.
