One of the most delightful aspects of *Final Fantasy XIV*'s social scene is the incredible variety of emotes players can use to interact. This guide shows you how to obtain the charming Photograph emote.

As part of a collaboration with Fujifilm Instax, *Final Fantasy XIV*'s Patch 7.18 introduced a free, unique emote: "Photograph." This delightful addition lets you simulate taking photos anywhere in Eorzea.

Unlike many emotes requiring quests or purchases, "Photograph" is automatically available in your Emote menu after downloading Patch 7.18. No level or expansion is required to unlock it.

How To Use the Photograph Emote in FFXIV

To use it, open your Emote menu (under the "Social" tab), find "Photograph" (usually in the "General" section), and press it. Your character will strike a pose and snap a Polaroid-style picture. Add it to your Favorites for easy access.

While not continuous or suitable for AFK activities, the Photograph emote is dynamic, working underwater (like in the Ruby Sea) and even while mounted (both grounded and flying). It offers fun, creative posing opportunities.

Patch 7.18 precedes the much larger Patch 7.2 (late March), bringing new dungeons, a return to the Arcadian, Cosmic Exploration, and more.
