Palworld Mobile in Development from PUBG Creators

Dec 31,24

Krafton and Pocket Pair are joining forces to bring the monster-catching game, Palworld, to mobile devices. Krafton, known for PUBG, will leverage its expertise to adapt Palworld's core gameplay for mobile platforms through its subsidiary, PUBG Studios. This collaboration signifies an expansion of the Palworld intellectual property.

While excitement is high, details regarding the mobile version remain scarce. The original Palworld game launched on Xbox and Steam earlier this year, quickly gaining popularity. A PlayStation 5 release followed, excluding Japan, potentially due to an ongoing legal dispute with Nintendo. This lawsuit alleges patent infringement concerning the mechanics of capturing creatures, a similarity some have likened to Pokémon, earning Palworld the nickname "Pokémon with guns." Pocket Pair denies any knowledge of specific patent violations.

Krafton's involvement is strategic, given Pocket Pair's current focus on the existing game. However, the mobile project is likely in its early stages. Further information on whether the mobile version will be a direct port or a modified adaptation is eagerly awaited. For now, players can explore the game's mechanics and features on the official Steam page.
