Since the announcement of the upcoming DLC for Lies of P, titled Overture, fans have been buzzing with speculation about the mysteries it might unveil. However, during the recent Game Developers Conference, IGN uncovered that one particular mystery—the game's jaw-dropping final cutscene—won't be addressed in the DLC. For those yet to experience the conclusion of Lies of P, the cutscene hints at potential future directions for the series, sparking intense speculation among the community. Lies of P director Jiwon Choi confirmed that the cutscene is not related to the Overture DLC, teasing fans with the promise of more announcements in the future: "Please stay tuned for additional announcements."

With Neowiz already confirming a sequel to Lies of P, it's plausible that the intriguing final cutscene might be setting the stage for Lies of P 2. Details about the sequel remain scarce, and Choi was tight-lipped during our discussion, emphasizing Neowiz's commitment to quality: "When we share such news or media and assets with you, you'll know for sure that we are ready to present it to you. And that follows very our strict focus on quality [amid] all the pressure that we talked about in the past. So that is the one promise that I can share with you, that when we actually share those contents with you and the news, we will be ready to share that with you."

PlayThe scene in question is the "Dorothy scene," where Paracelsus mentions finding Dorothy, and we see her iconic ruby slippers and striped socks. This suggests that future Lies of P narratives might intertwine with other public domain fairy tales. However, Choi confirmed that this won't be explored in Overture.

SPOILERS END HERE.

PlayWhile the final cutscene won't be explained in the DLC, Choi hinted at what fans can expect from Overture. He recommends revisiting the base game, as it contains clues about the upcoming expansion: "When you play through the base game again, you'll see many hints that we scattered throughout the whole experience. A lot of hints and a lot of windows into the world, and you'll be able to actually see that and experience that in expansion…There are many things that I actually wanted to accomplish when we were working on the base game. It didn't get put into the base game, and all of that, at least key elements of that are going to be included in expansion." Choi also noted that some fans are already piecing together the puzzle, with some theories closely aligning with Neowiz's plans.

Additionally, Choi shared that Overture will take experienced players approximately 15-20 hours to complete. It will be accessible after reaching a "certain" chapter of the game and will remain playable until the end. As previously announced, Overture is a prequel, sending the protagonist back in time to Krat before its fall. The DLC promises new locations, enemies, bosses, characters, and weapons, though Choi remained tight-lipped about specifics, saving the surprises for the release.
