During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation, several key upgrades were revealed. The new model features a larger 7.9-inch LCD screen with 1080p handheld resolution at 120fps, plus HDR support. While maintaining the same 13.9mm thickness, pixel density doubles compared to its predecessor. When docked, output reaches 4K resolution with HDR.

The redesigned Joy-Con 2 controllers now attach magnetically with a detachable release button. Larger SL/SR side buttons improve horizontal gameplay comfort, alongside expanded analog sticks. Nintendo also confirmed mouse compatibility through these updated controllers.

Audio enhancements include built-in noise-canceling microphones and 3D audio support. The redesigned kickstand offers greater stability with adjustable positioning, while a new top-mounted USB port facilitates peripheral connectivity or charging during tabletop use.

Storage capacity sees a significant boost to 256GB internally.
