Switch 2 Reveal: Nintendo Confirms June Direct
Nintendo has officially announced that its Switch 2 Direct presentation will run approximately 60 minutes.
The extended duration hints at significant reveals during this highly anticipated showcase.
The Switch 2 Direct begins April 2, 2025 at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST. This follows Nintendo's initial teaser earlier this year, promising detailed insights about their next-generation console.
The preliminary reveal showcased the Switch 2's design, potential glimpses of Mario Kart 9, and intriguing hints about innovative Joy-Con functionality resembling mouse controls.
Key unanswered questions remain regarding the mysterious Joy-Con "C" button functionality, technical specifications, and undisclosed port capabilities.
Fans anticipate confirmation of launch titles, release timing (expected mid-to-late 2025), and pricing—with industry analysts projecting a $400 MSRP.
Multiple developers hint at strong third-party support, including Firaxis Games praising the Joy-Con innovations and Nacon confirming Switch 2 titles in development. Rumors suggest Hollow Knight: Silksong may debut alongside the console, while EA acknowledges potential franchise adaptations.
Recent announcements about digital game-sharing features sparked additional speculation regarding Switch 2 compatibility discovered in Nintendo's documentation.
Nintendo will follow the Direct with hands-on gameplay demonstrations during Treehouse Live events on April 3-4 at 7am PT.
