Eerie Worlds: A Tactical CCG Featuring Global Folklore Monsters

Rifts are rarely good news in games, but Avid Games has embraced the chaos in its highly anticipated title, Eerie Worlds, the follow-up to Cards, the Universe and Everything. This tactical collectible card game (CCG) focuses on monsters emerging from these rifts, offering a blend of fun and educational elements.

Avid Games has crafted a visually stunning array of monsters, each inspired by real-world mythological and folkloric horrors.

The game boasts an impressive roster, encompassing creatures from diverse cultures. Encounter Japanese Yokai like Jikininki and Kuchisake, and Slavic monsters such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav. Bigfoot, Mothman, the Nandi Bear, El Chupacabra, and countless others from around the globe are included, each accompanied by detailed, researched descriptions.

Eerie Worlds features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, creating strategic depth through varied monster properties. Players build a "Grimoire," their personal monster collection, upgradable by merging duplicate cards. The game launches with 160 base cards, with many more accessible through merging and further additions planned.

Avid Games plans to release two more Hordes in the coming months, ensuring ongoing strategic challenges.

Gameplay involves a nine-card deck (eight monsters, one world card) and nine 30-second turns, demanding strategic mana management and synergy exploitation. The game's complexity encourages repeated play.

Eerie Worlds is available now for free on the Google Play Store and the App Store. Download it here!
